Body Weather Laboratory ( BWL) is our Los Angeles, USA based non profit company which has been in existence since 1993. BWL has been a vibrant and influential contributor to the story of dance by conducting workshops, residences, and producing new performance, locally and internationally.

2012 was an exciting year for us. Thanks to you, our supporters, and a grant from the Center for Cultural Innovation, we celebrated the start of the year with the construction of Milwood Landing, our company rooftop studio, and an opening dance by Simone Forti in February.¬†We feel so fortunate to have done so many more inspiring projects and collaborations. Highlights include: Roxanne Steinberg performing at the Basilica in Hudson, New York, COLD DREAM COLOUR- homage to Irish painter Louis le Brocquy, at REDCAT Los Angeles, the Flower of the Seasons – ECDYSIS performances at Electric Lodge, Venice CA, Oguri’s collaboration with Andres Corchero in a week residency and performance at Mal Pelo’s L’Animal in Catalonia, Spain, and Oguri and Adam Rudolph at the ABSOLUT Fringe festival in Dublin, Ireland with WILDFLOWERS.

This year, 2013, has kicked off with a successful run of 5 APAP/NYC showcases at our ARCANE Loft Tribeca. Coming this March is Oguri’s Huckleberry Project, “QUEST FOR FREEDOM” with Tamai, from Japan, and live music by composer/musician Wadada Leo Smith and his Golden Quartet. May brings COLD DREAM COLOUR to the Guggenheim Museum in NYC as part of their WORKS AND PROCESS series.

The opportunity to integrate dance into the community, festivals, and contemporary life is both invigorating and a true honour. We hope that you will consider supporting us.
